John Colmers Encourages Precision Medicine Innovations in MD

In an opinion piece published in the Baltimore Sun, John Colmers, senior vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine, wants to ensure that a cap on spending associated with a Medicare waiver implemented in Maryland does not stifle innovations in biomedical discovery and clinical practice. He mentions that novel discoveries derived from precision medicine may cost more in the short-term but may save lives and reduce costs over time.
